Overview

CapCenter is a unique mortgage lender that offers mortgages with zero closing costs. This can save you between 1 and 3% on the cost of your mortgage when you close on a new home. CapCenter charges slightly higher interest rates than competitors, but you can use the lender’s calculators to see how much money you will save by eliminating closing costs.

CapCenter offers a wide range of mortgages, including conventional, jumbo, FHA, and VA loans. The lender also offers mortgage refinancing. You can choose a 10, 15, 20, or 30-year repayment period, and you can qualify for a mortgage with a down payment as low as 3%.

One thing to note is that CapCenter is only available in four states and DC at this time – Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland – and the District of Columbia

Suitable For?

CapCenter is right for homebuyers who want to eliminate closing costs. Most mortgage lenders typically charge closing costs ranging from 1 to 3% of the value of your mortgage, which can be thousands of dollars. CapCenter does not charge these fees and doesn’t subtract them from your mortgage principal.

Instead, it charges slightly higher-than-average interest rates. Depending on the length of your mortgage and the interest rate you qualify for, you could end up saving money by paying no closing costs but a higher interest rate. CapCenter offers a detailed mortgage calculator to help you determine how much you can save.

The Application Process

You can apply for a mortgage with CapCenter online. You don’t need to submit personal information to get a quote, and you can complete the online application in less than five minutes. You will need to provide information about your income, current properties, and any outstanding debt.

Once you’ve applied, a loan officer will get in touch by phone to complete your mortgage request. CapCenter typically goes from application to closing in a few weeks. Note that once your mortgage has closed, you will be directed to a third-party servicer to make payments.

Repayment Terms

CapCenter offers conventional loans and mortgage refinance loans with 10, 15, 20, or 30-year terms. FHA and VA loans are available in 15 and 30-year terms.

    Mortgage Refi

Mortgage Refi I contacted CapCenter to compare refi rates with Quicken (who'd long been my mortgage company). I was pleasantly surprised at the rates, the in house insurance company, and all went quite smoothly. I saved a lot on my homeowners for the same coverage, and all of that was quite easy thanks to Jordan Stacey! The only snafu we had was with a home equity line of credit, which at the last minute I had to close due to a communication lapse. I would have preferred to leave it open, but also wanted to keep the closing date intact.

CapCenter was easy to work with.

CapCenter was easy to work with! The list of documents required were uploaded online rather than sending paper copies. Nick, my rep, kept in touch through the process and was always available if I had questions. The process was speedy compared to my previous refinances. I had the option of going to their office or having a representative come to my house for closing. The bonus was saving on my closing costs. Very pleased and highly recommend!

CapCenter offers a great no closing cost refinance offer

I was 8 years into a 20 year mortgage when refinance rates hit an all time low in April 2021. I went with CapCenter as the offered a 10 year no closing cost refinance at 2.375% which was 1% less than my current mortgage rate. Being in the last few years of a 20 year mortgage, I didn't want to pay closing costs that I'd probably never recoup. CapCenter's offer seemed to good to be true but it was the real deal. They kept me informed ever step of the way. Everyone I spoke with or had e-mail contact with was so friendly and helpful. I was even able to submit everything required for the refinance through their online portal. Everything was super quick and easy. I'm very happy.
